This compact residential block is shaped according to the urban context of building heights and orientation to the sun. The low part is directed to the small scale residential neighbourhood, while the highest point faces an office tower. The two buildings together form a gateway from the station square of schiedam towards the canal.

The block with an internal courtyard has a straightforward layout based on a 4,20 m grid. Different types of attractive dwellings; apartments, city houses, duplexes and lofts in the top are possible to develop within the envelope.

The final sculptural form is the product of a series of transformations of the base envelope that result from urban analysis and the addition of spatial qualities to the block.
